Jen Steventon (Group Instructor, Aberdovey)
Which living person do you most admire?
My Dad – he's great!
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I can be very critical – I'm slowly turning into my Mother (she is lovely! Just very nit picky – and she knows it!)
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Being selfish or big headed – there's just no need.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
A cup of tea and a biscuit after a day out on the river playing in my kayak.
What is your favourite journey?
Any really. Generally they are taking you somewhere exciting – a river, a crag, your mates' house! I did enjoy travelling around the South Island of New Zealand and canoeing down the Spey in Scotland – both of those were ace!
On what occasion do you lie?
Every week – new group – new story; "Did you know the night duty staff at Aberdovey are here to prevent the badgers from breaking into the dormitories, they have tools and everything!" Of course I’m not great at it so they only believe me for 10 mins!
When and where were you happiest?
Constantly and everywhere. What can I say? I'm just naturally upbeat!
Which talent would you most like to have?
I would like to be magical, not 'Rabbit out the hat' magic – more like Hogwarts magic. I think I'd make an amazing witch!
Who are your favourite writers?
Jane Austin – she's funny and makes me want to run about fainting in long dresses calling everyone "Mr Darcy"!
What is your favourite meal?
Cheesey baked beans on toast – mmmmmmm!
What is your favourite piece of music?
'Piece of music’ sounds a bit serious! Does "You look good on the dancefloor – Arctic Monkeys" count?
Would you rather be a big fish in a little pond, or a little fish in a big pond?
Small fish and forget the pond, I want the ocean!
What is your favourite animal?
My dog – Max, and in the interest of being fair my adopted pet ferret Theo.
If you could change one law of physics, which would it be and why?
Gravity – it would make falling off climbs less inconvenient!
If you could do one thing to make the world a happier place, what would you do?
Remind people that the world is a happy place, but you have to make it that way.
